Abbey Park Schools Federation

Hello and Welcome to Abbey Park Federation PTFA!

We are a great group of parents, carers and staff from across the federation who are working together to organise lots of fun and exciting events for children and to raise money.

We are aiming to raise lots of money to go towards things for school that would otherwise be unable to be funded by the school’s budget.

We are also very excited to organise lots of fun things in school for the children to bring us together as a whole federation and as a community.

In recent years the PTFA has raised thousands of pounds to fund; days out for the children, Christmas gifts, sports apparatus and play equipment.

In October 2023 I became Chair person for the PTFA and I am looking forward to being part of a fabulous team who all have the same values of helping school and the children to thrive.

You can keep up with us here or on Facebook, or by emailing lr@abbeypark.worcs.sch.uk or ptfa@abbeypark.worcs.sch.uk

If you’d like to join us, please get in touch!

Many Thanks

On Friday 28th June we held our annual summer fair!

It was a great success and everyone had lots of fun, most of all Mr Henry!

Lots of families came and enjoyed our event with stalls, inflatables, food trucks and face painting! A huge thank you to everyone who supported us and everyone who volunteered to help too!

We have been working hard to improve the look of the outdoor areas around our school. Our forest school areas are now in the middle of their transformation thanks to our fantastic volunteers at our forest school after school club.

They have been working hard to clear all of the areas that will be used for things such as base camps, bug hotels and even forest bathing areas.

The PTFA have purchased all of the tools needed and some fire pits so far and are looking into buying some hammocks and swings to further enhance the areas. We will also be looking into natural instruments for music and lots of flowers and plants that will bring lots more wonderful wildlife into those areas for the children to enjoy.

Apart from forest school, the PTFA have bought plants and planted all of the planters on the first school playground to make it look brighter and more fun. Thank you to Year 1 who have offered to be our water monitors and water our plants for us.

We were also very excited to welcome Mr Sce in to school over half term to transform our garage. The original artwork on the side of the garage was beautifully painted by Mrs Hollis’ auntie, 27 years ago when Mrs Reynolds and Mrs Bunch were pupils at Abbey Park!

The PTFA, along with the children in school, decided that it was time for a bit of an upgrade and the PTFA agreed to fund this . We spoke to Mr Sce, who has previously done lots of graffiti artwork around Pershore, specifically in COVID lockdown, and asked him to incorporate all of the animals that our classes are named after.

When we saw the finished product, we were totally blown away with the fantastic result! Im sure you’ll agree that this has brightened up the first school playground.

We are now looking into some improvements to our middle school playground too! Watch this space….

In December, some of our federation staff, PTFA and volunteers accompanied Santa and Pershore and District Round Table around the local estate. We knoacked on doors to collect money for our school and other charities that the round table kindly support.

We had lots of fun and walked a REALLY long way!

On Friday 23rd February, we were invited to a presentation giving evening where we were presented our cheque for £216-00!

This is an amazing amount!

Thank you to Pershore and District Round Table, we are very grateful and can’t wait to accompany Santa again this year.

On Wednesday 15th November, we collected a cheque from the co-op in Pershore for our federation. Last year we were nominated as one of their local causes which meant that whenever a Co-op member shops there, money goes towards our federation.

They raised a huge £2171-00 for us!

This will make a huge difference as we will be purchasing Lego sets for each classroom to be used across the curriculum; Design and technology, art, humanities, maths etc.

We will keep you updated with lots of pictures of them being used!
