Our Amazing Work!

This week we have explored travel by boat. We experimented with finding classroom items that floated and sank.

We are looking at the book You choose by Nick Sharrett. We found different ways of moving around our world with wheels.

Throughout the week, we have rolled wheels painted with cars to make different tracks, and thought about where we could go in our cars.

Lovely to have so many parents in for our Easter stay and play session.

Today we had a visit from the vets Louie and Sam.

We learnt how to bandage our animals. Our school dog Raffi visited and we listened to his heart through the stethoscope.

This week we have been thinking about how a vet helps the animals.

We enjoyed using the stethoscope and bandages in our vet role play.

We explored the role of firefighters. The children learnt some new topic vocabulary, by finding different topic pictures in the rice. The children were excited to put out chalk fires with water, practicing our fine motor skills.

We explored the role of the Police, we dressed up and enjoyed our Police station role play.

Thank you for coming to our Mother’s day stay and play we had so much fun.

In preschool we dressed up as our favourite book characters and shared stories with each other.

This week our topic has been who can help us when we are ill?

We loved dressing up in our Doctors surgery. We painted our hands to look like X rays. We made our own Doctors bags, we practiced our cutting skills to cut out special items to go inside.

We were so lucky to have a visit from a paramedic with an ambulance and the air ambulance visited as well. This made our week very special.

As part of our topic who can help us? We had an ambulance visit school today. We were able to check our oxygen levels, lie on the stretcher, sit in the drivers seat, put the lights on and sound the horn.

This visit supported the children’s understanding of our topic.

Preschool celebrated Chinese New year. The children loved wearing the dragon mask, trying noodles and prawn crackers.

We had fun trying to use chop sticks.

This week we have explored the story of the 3 little pigs.

We have huffed and puffed like the big wolf.

Listened to the story and  re-enacted it in the story tuff spot.

We have finished our topic with the story of the gingerbread man.

The children made their own gingerbread men, we enjoyed mixing, stirring and rolling.

By the end of the week we were repeating “run, run as fast as you can”

We are great story tellers.

We have had lots of fun this week in preschool and even had a visit from Santa.

Merry Christmas everyone.

Paul Sturgess visited Preschool this week, he is the world’s tallest basketball player.

This week we visited Father Christmas.

the children were excited to travel on a big bus to Worcester.

When we arrived, we had a ride on the fair, took a wintery walk looking for Father Christmas’s reindeer. We then visited Father Christmas in his big yurt, he gave us a special teddy to keep.

This week we have learnt about world celebrations. We listened to a story about a wedding, made diya lamps, mendhi patterns, we enjoyed exploring coloured patterns on the light table.
